Post Game Jam thoughts

Overview

So… this is another post mortem about this project.

Basically this was supposed to be for a nsfw game jam called SummerofSmutJam2023. It was a 3 month game jam that started in June and ended in August and for the most of my weekends in June I was working on the coding and the art. July not so much… Work got really, and I mean REALLY, annoying cause I had to micromanage 13 unity projects all at the same time with deadlines every week. So I didn’t even touch this unity project in July.

Finally August was when I finalized all of the coding, “art” and etc. (Art in quotes cause the art wasn’t even colored nor was I 100% on Kraig’s design but meh)

Don’t know if it was obvious but I got a lot of inspiration from Strange Flesh

The Good

Work may have stunted the development of the game but I at least enjoyed working on the game.

Its the first time I made a 2d beat em up and I do want to continue working on it in the future. However, I said I would first continue working on Boss Crawler.

I learned a lot while working on this game, both artistically and technically.

The Bad

You may notice there’s no submitted for Game Jam Badge on the screen. No it wasn’t cause it was late it was because I dropped out of the game jam in the last week. I don’t know if you are following my twitter but basically I did not like that all of the other game jam submissions were predominantly straight nsfw games.

I didn’t want people to come into my comments asking if I was going to add women or straight porn in a game clearly tagged as gay bara furry so I dropped out immediately.

What happens next

Well I have a comic I need to finish and then I will jump back into working on Boss Crawler. I do not know if I will participate in this years bara jam due to the fact that its always on October and is basically asking me to give up Orctober.

Future plans for this game

*Fixing any bugs that shows after this prototype release date

*Implementing more sounds, and music (After learning how to make music)

*Pregnancy system (After the enemy fucks you you have a chance of getting pregnant then afterwards giving birth to the same enemy but with higher stats)

*Story and Dialogue

*Better AI

*Better movement (I scrapped the combo system, combo counter system)
